July

-July 4th, The weekend brings us a trip to potters cove. I had met some people when I flew up here and we were invited to spend the 4th with them.
It was great to spend the night on the water, the gentle rocking of the boat makes you sleep like a baby in a crib. From this cove we could see the fireworks displays of all the different cities around us. It was like surround sound with fireworks. There were three other boats rafted up with us and maybe 30-40 more in the cove watching as well. Everyone came over and hung out on "Jamie" (the boat we were on) and had drinks and food.

-July, Well, those of you who have followed our site would have noticed that it hasn't been updated in a while. That's because there is no internet here and all the work has made it difficult to find time to set up the computer and work on it. It rains here all the time, which is quite frustrating when you are trying to sand and paint (and have a leaky boat).
We do get a chance to work sometimes, but it is very slow going especially since every time it is nice outside we get invited to go sailing, and since that is what we are here to do, we can't turn that down.
Phoenix and I had talked about looking for a windsurfer to maybe rent or something but he found one at a garage sale for $200. It was a pretty good deal and had 2 sails, 3 booms and all new stuff. So now we need a teacher. Luckily we met a guy who was excited to show us how to do it. It was quite fun but I must agree that you will most likely drink quite a bit of sea water while learning. Phoenix even drew blood which is apparently a first in windsurfing accidents.
Besides all the exterior work we are trying to get done we still have to rip all the plumbing and electrical out and start all over with that as well. And of course there is the engine, there is no alternator and it needs some cleaning as well as paint touch-up and a new water pump impeller.
